PCCA GOOD CITIZEN AWARD 2024
Tom Fletcher-Dutton of the Grind Reaper Coffee shop was presented with the PCCA Good Citizen Award 2024 at our recent AGM. Besides our beautiful ocean and beaches, our local amenities and wonderful homes in Port Coogee it’s also the social connections many of us have with each other that play a key role. Tom’s simple combination of great coffee, tasty snacks and cakes, a love of dogs, and a ‘good attitude’ has played a great role in fostering those social connections. A busy week sees well in excess of 1000 coffees poured and there are more than 500 happy snaps of our canine companions adorning the shop wall. In 2022, Tom also engaged his social conscience participating in Chin-ups for Charity raising, with community support, $2500 for Children with Muscular Dystrophy. This also provided him an opportunity to show off his considerable physical prowess, doing 2500 chin-ups in the front of his shop. Last year, Tom engaged with the Council to provide the 5 wooden lounge chairs directly opposite the Grind Reaper and they were such a hit more have arrived. PCCA is delighted to recognise what Tom and his terrific staff have brought to our community.
